New Year’s Eve Toast with iPhone
New Year is a great occasion to celebrate; probably the only event which is celebrated all over the world by everyone regardless of their nationality, language and religion. On this very special occasion, an iPhone developer has come up with an iPhone and iPod touch app to exchange contact information by giving a toast to the one with whom you are exchanging information. The toast can then be shared on the facebook wall for all your family and friends to see. Waterford Clink-Clink has two modes, standalone and toasting with another iPhone. It responds to motion of clinking when you do the toast, with the champagne exactly moving like it is done with real glass. Here’s a video of the app, showing the said functionality in action. Clink-Clink is definitely a fun app to have on this New Years Eve. The glass and liquid effects looks amazingly real. Plus it’s an easy way to exchange contact information and make friends around the globe. Best of all, it is free and can be grabbed from iTunes App Store through the link given below. Root Google Nexus One on Android 2.1
Google Nexus One phone has been rooted already even before its official release to public. Paul over at Modaco forums has managed to successfully root his Nexus One, running the latest Android 2.1 version on the said device. He has cooked a custom ROM for Nexus One with the method, which he is referring to as Superboot. Rooting your phone will give you full access to the file system on Nexus One . This will enable you to modify the phone’s firmware to whatever you want to have on your phone like themes, apps and custom ROMs just like you do on the jailbroken iPhone . You can follow the step by step guide posted below (on your own risk) to root the Google Nexus One phone. We are not to be held responsible if you ended up bricking your phone. Step 1: Download the Superboot.zip file and extract to a directory. Step 2: Put your device in bootloader mode – turn if off, remove battery, plug in USB cable, when battery icon appears onscreen, replace battery then tap the powerbutton while holding the Camera key. Step 3: On Windows – double click ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’. On Mac OS X – Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type ‘chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh’ followed by ‘./install-superboot-mac.sh’. On Linux – Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type ‘chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh’ followed by ‘./install-superboot-linux.sh’. Google is expected to unveil the phone to the public in the upcoming Android event to be held on January 5th, at its Headquarters in Mountain View, California. 15 Tips and Techniques for Styling the button element
Lets be honest, most of the form buttons that you come across are ugly, they work as intended, but really, really look awful. There are reasons for this, firstly form buttons, as with almost anything to do with forms, are notoriously tricky to style with consistency, and secondly, styling can cause major problems with cross browser and cross platform compatibility. The button element defines the submit button. Designers may choose to use the input element to specify these buttons, but are limited to only very basic styling. For richer and prettier buttons the obvious choice is the button element, which offers richer labels, including images and emphasis. It is this element this article focuses on. In this article we highlight 15 methods and techniques for improving the styling of your form button. Super Awesome Buttons with CSS3 and RGBa With a little more refinement, you can make your html buttons look more actionable and refined while maintaining the ability to function as a button across browsers. With a little CSS3 magic, you will learn how to create a scalable set of buttons with nearly half the CSS it would have taken with hex colors, all made possible by a transparent PNG overlay (for the gradient), border, border-radius, box-shadow, and text-shadow. Windows Mobile 7 Confirmed for HTC HD2
Last month, we informed you about the possibility of HTC HD2 getting Windows Mobile 7 upgrade. But now according to a tweet posted by HTC’s Russian twitter account , it looks like HTC HD2 has been confirmed to get Windows Mobile 7 upgrade when it is released in Q3/Q4 of 2010. Translated version of the tweet is as follows. @ StalkerZoner for Diamond 2 firmware is not planned.Of the existing communicators on the market, only HD2 firmware to get WM7. This makes sense because HD2 is the first phone which meets all the hardware chassis requirements laid out by Microsoft for a phone which will be powered by Windows Mobile 7, including support for multi-touch through its massive 4.3’’ capacitive display. For those of you who don’t know, HTC HD2 is powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 and is the first Windows phone to feature multi-touch support through HTC Sense (aka HTC TouchFLO 3D 2.5 ). Hardware wise, HD2 is by far the most powerful phone available in the market with Qualcomm’s new 1Ghz Snapdragon mobile processor which delivers enough power for a great responsive and smoother end-user experience. So if you are holding off from buying this powerful handset just because it runs on Windows Mobile 6.5, Now you don’t have to since HTC has now confirmed that the said handset will be upgradable to Windows Mobile 7 for free when it comes out next year.
